THE CENTER FOR TEACHING, LEARNING, AND INNOVATION

DEDICATED TO YOUNG LEARNERS

LEARNING

Empowering students to become active members and leaders in their own learning experience, the CTLI ensures that students receive the tools, support, and enrichment necessary to succeed no matter where they are on the learning continuum.

With guidance from the CTLI, our faculty use diagnostic prescriptive teaching to build on existing strengths and competencies to amplify our impact and extend our reach to students in all grades.

Throughout their time at Congressional School, students in set grades participate in the Mindprint Learning Assessment to assist them in recognizing their own strengths and weaknesses and how best to approach their learning most successfully.

HOW THE CTLI SUPPORTS LEARNING

The goal is to provide services that will optimize our students’ learning potential.

1

Increase number of learning specialists in reading, writing, and math in the form of Co-Teachers

2

Serve students in preschool through 8th grade

3

Provide support to help all students succeed as learners and communicators no matter where they are on the learning continuum.

4

Provide necessary students with Individualized Learning Plans

5

Support and implement a culture of active learning which requires students to fully participate in their learning by thinking, discussing, investigating, and creating. In active learning classrooms, students will be asked to practice skills, solve problems, struggle with complex questions, propose solutions, and explain ideas in their own words through writing and discussion
