Maura Rice joined Congressional in 2014 as a Senior Kindergarten Teaching Assistant. Prior to Congressional, Maura worked in Scotland as an Assistant Language Teacher, tutoring children in both French and Spanish. While completing her post-graduate work at Trinity, her paper on The Importance of Play in Mathematical Learning was selected for display at Trinity University’s first annual Student Research Symposium.
Outside of school, Maura enjoys cooking and baking for friends in family. In fact, she is still in pursuit of the “perfect chocolate chip cookie” and welcomes suggested recipes. She also loves to travel and read biographies.
“I love the relationships, bonds and connections that education encourages in every person. I believe in every person’s unique ability to learn, and that each student has something different, but important, to offer the classroom and the outside world!”
