A Caring Community

The Congressional community feels like a family... an all-welcoming, multicultural, multi-age family united by sharing, celebrating, and learning from what each member brings—their authentic self.

"We love Congressional School! Our son started in preschool, he is now in 6th grade and he couldn't be happier. It has strong academics and a nurturing and safe environment. The teachers are very knowledgeable, kind, and they give special attention to each student. Congressional School also has a wonderful sense of community, it is a great school to be a part of."

Parents Day

Twice a year we have Parents Day where students invite their parents to join them at school. Parents get a first-hand look into their child's school day, get to know the teacher even more, and just see what it is like to be a Congressional student!

Special Friends Day

Grandparents and Special Friends Day is a wonderful day of the year right before Thanksgiving break. The morning is filled with performances by students and engaging time in the classrooms as students share their daily experience with their special guest.

Mystery Readers

Throughout the year, our Primary and Lower School classrooms bring in Mystery Readers — volunteer parents and grandparents. This helps the classroom feel familiar to parents and for our students to look forward to having visitors. Plus, who doesn't love a good story?

Family Nights

To bring everyone together, our Congressional School Parent Organization puts together 3-4 family nights per year with bon fires, movie nights, special events and more for every infant through eighth grader and their families.

International Night

This is one of everyone's favorite traditions at our school. Having so many different cultures in our community, families set up tables with food for tastings from around the world. With multi-cultural clothing and student performances, this is an event we all look forward to.
