COURSE DESCRIPTION

The Foundations for Algebra I course is designed for students entering pre-algebra in the fall. This course provides practice for early concepts and a review of mathematical skills and strategies to explore the intuitive understanding of numbers. Students will develop an early understanding of key concepts leading to theories of linear relationships and probability.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

  • Develop an understanding for basic definitions in geometry
  • Understand special angle relationships and the mathematical consequences of these relationships
  • Understand notation in logic in how to deduce if the truth value of statement
  • Construct angle and segment proofs
