WALESKA MCGLONE
First Grade Teacher

Waleska McGlone joined the Congressional School family in 2019 as a lead teacher in our Early Childhood program and transitioned to Grade 2 in fall 2020. Waleska graduated from Old Dominion University in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science in Human Services. She worked with adults with intellectual disabilities and subsequently as a special education teacher assistant before transitioning to teaching special education in 2016. Waleska taught for two years in Suffolk, VA as a kindergarten co-teacher and then taught special education for grades preschool through 1st grade at a charter school in DC before joining Congressional. She is currently pursuing her Master's in Teaching with a focus in Elementary Education from North Carolina A&T University.
In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Desmond (current Congressional middle school math teacher), and puppy Apollo, cooking/baking, traveling, and swimming.
