Middle School Social Studies Teacher

MEd Counseling, Providence College, Providence, Rhode Island
BA English and Spanish, Union College, Schenectady, New York

Sara Krauss recently moved with her family to the DC area after living in a rural part of New York for the last several years. She grew up in a small New York town where she attended an independent high school which was her inspiration in choosing education as her career path.

Sara has taught in a wide variety of educational settings up and down the East Coast and earned an MEd in School Counseling in an effort to better serve the social-emotional needs of her students. She believes that forming strong and empathic relationships with her students is the most meaningful and personally satisfying part of her professional life.

When not teaching, Sara enjoys many pursuits including spending time with her husband and two boys, taking walks, reading, doing crossword puzzles, and supporting the Red Sox .

"There is no light brighter than the one that shines through a student’s eyes when she creates, discovers, and triumphs in the face of an academic challenge. I live for that light; it’s why I teach.”
