Middle School Math Teacher
B.S. Applied Mathematics, Old Dominion University

Desmond McGlone joined the Congressional community in 2018 as our 7th and 8th grade math teacher. Mr. McGlone previously taught middle school, high school and community college math in the Virginia Beach area before relocating to the DC area. He was most recently a high school math teacher at a public charter school in Washington, D.C. Mr. McGlone received his Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics from Old Dominion University and his Master of Education in Individualized Studies from Regent University.
In his spare time, Mr. McGlone enjoys music (he played violin in his middle and high school orchestras and snare drum in high school and college marching bands) and trying new restaurants. He loves spending time with his wife, Waleska, meeting new people, and is excited to join the Congressional School family!
"I love being a catalyst in the success of my young mathematicians. Their success for me results in students who are organized, inquisitive, creative, and have developed a sense of unbounded and unorthodox thinking - the very elements that push our society forward."
