April Burnell joined Congressional in 2019. April is originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where she thrived as a student athlete in high school leading to being awarded an athletic and leadership scholarship. She graduated with both a Master’s in Education and a Bachelor’s in Multidisciplinary Studies from West Virginia University. She is an enthusiastic and innovative educator with experience teaching many different age levels. Having the opportunity of working in both the public and private sectors of education has given her a wide range of teaching techniques in both General and Specialized Education. She has also taught in many different states including West Virginia, Maryland, and Virginia. Exploring yoga in her personal life allows her classroom atmosphere to transcend and be a peaceful, calm, and comfortable learning environment.
